The restored lockhouse will be used in the Canal Quarters program of the C&O Canal Trust. It will also find use for small classes and perhaps an artist-in-residence.

Kevin Brandt, superintendant of the C&O Canal NHP, speaks at perhaps the last dedication of his 40-year career with the Park Service.

Don Harrison, President of the Friends, is second from the right at the ribbon-cutting. Bert Swain, who grew up in the house, is standing on one side of Don.

The house is beautifully restored. It's furnished with pieces appropriate to 1916, when the Swains moved into the house.
